Navigate to your Twitter account
Visit the Twitter website (twitter.com) and log in to the account you want to deactivate.

In Twitter feed, look for 'More'
As you click on 'More', you'll find options. Click on 'Settings & Support' to see the dropdown.

Select "Settings and privacy" from the dropdown
Click on 'Setting and privacy' to go ahead with account deactivation.

Deactivate Your Twitter Account
In the Account section, scroll down to the bottom, and you'll find the "Deactivate your account" option.

Click on "Deactivate your account."
Twitter will provide information about the deactivation process and the consequences. Read the information carefully to understand what deactivation means.

Enter current password.
To complete the deactivation, enter your current password.

After entering your password, click the "Deactivate" button.
Twitter will ask you to confirm that you want to deactivate your account. If you are sure, click "Yes, deactivate."

Your account is now deactivated.
Your data will be retained by Twitter for 30 days, and during this period, you can reactivate your account by logging in again.
Note: While deactivation temporarily removes your account from public view, deletion permanently eliminates it. If you choose to reactivate your deactivated account, you can do so within 30 days by logging in with your previous credentials.
Alternatives to Deactivation
Before deactivating your account, consider alternative approaches to managing your Twitter presence:
- Unfollow Unwanted Accounts: Reduce the noise by unfollowing accounts that no longer interest you or contribute negatively to your experience.
- Adjust Privacy Settings: Enhance privacy by adjusting your settings to control who can view your tweets and interact with you.
- Utilize Mute and Block Features: Mute accounts that overwhelm you with notifications or block those who engage in unwanted or harmful behavior.
- Take Breaks: Consider taking regular breaks from Twitter to refresh your mind and reduce social media fatigue.
